Take A Virtual Trip To Paris With Me
Walk the same cobblestone streets the Masters walked. Discover an art studio from the 1800s, where greats like Renoir, Monet, Degas and Suzanne Valadon lived and painted. We’ll learn the history where the Impressionist Movement was inspired, and what motivated these artists to create the masterpieces of their time. How they used collectives to inspire and learn from one another. These are just a few of the items you’ll be inspired by as we take A Trip Through Montmartre.
After this amazing travel experience, we’ll head back to the studio and pull influences from our adventure. I’ll take you through a brief journaling exercise to help brainstorm and unpack all the inspiration we gained, then we’ll head over to the easel. I’ll lead you step by step into putting your composition together, and creating an inspired acrylic painting.
Oh, but there’s more! You’ll also get to go on a second virtual trip and discover even more influences in Paris. This time we discover a famous artist that once owned a popular cafe that is over one hundred years old. After, we head to the studio and I’ll show you how to pull from your inspirations and create another cool masterpiece using charcoals and pastels.

Learn How To Paint And Draw Your Vision On Canvas
In this course you will learn some fun techniques the Impressionists used to create a fascinating colorful landscape. Using acrylics, I break it down to the simplest forms starting with a colorful underpainting blocking in the large masses of color. Then as we go along, we’ll continue to lay colors, developing forms into beautiful trees. The Impressionists were all about using broad strokes of colors. We go step by step in completing this amazing colorful landscape based on Suzanne Valadon's “View From My Window”.
In our second art piece, we use charcoal and pastels to render our subject and use our influence composition to create a fun art piece. You’ll learn how to work from large to small. Slowly building another composition focusing on an urban art scene. We’ll build the scene using marks, build on shapes, and incorporate loose techniques to paint in some loose color. Incorporating values, contrast and colors to set the scene, atmosphere and mood. At the end of this tutorial you'll have completed a piece using some fun easy techniques you can incorporate into future projects.
Who's It For?
This course is for beginner and intermediate artists who not only want to learn how to paint...but also want a travel experience that inspires their art work. Student Reviews
"The Wanderlust Collective helped me to not overthink whatsoever and just feel into what I wanted to draw and paint. Margie helped me to not focus on the outcome, but just stay in the present. She showed me how to keep things simple and overcome artist block. She allowed me to not live in my head, but lead with my heart"

About Margie
Margie is a realist painter who depicts her surroundings through her uses of line, color, and the effects of light and texture. She’s been elected a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America (PSA), and her work has appeared in over 20 regional and national juried exhibitions, and has won numerous prizes. Margie has over 20 years teaching in many different venues.
Teaching is one of her greatest passions to pass all she has learned onto the next generation of painters and artists. Traveling has brought a whole new dimension to her art. Her goal is to share her travel experiences with the world. Teaching her students how to use these adventures in their paintings. Inspiring them one location at a time.
About The Wanderlust Collective
One of the greatest stumbling blocks for Margie's students over the years has been a lack of inspiration and creativity. Sadly, most art courses today only teach technique leaving many students wondering how to get inspired. She created The Wanderlust Collective by combining her two passions, travel and painting. By bringing students with her “virtually” on journeys, they get inspired and are able to take their art to a whole new level.
Margie also realized that many famous artists of the past succeeded by forming collectives to support and encourage each other. Looking back at the lives of the Masters such as Degas, Monet, Mary Cassatt, and Suzanne Valadon inspired her to create a community where artists could flourish. Watching each student in the Collective gain confidence, take control and bring their passions into reality is a true inspiration to her.
